Sullivan County resident Paul A. Ellis, age 38, of Monticello, was charged with burglary and petit larceny on Monday, Oct. 14.

According to Monticello Police Lt. Mark Johnstone, an investigation into a Dunkin' burglary at 144 Jefferson St. in Monticello on Thursday, Oct. 10, found that Ellis forced his way through the drive-thru window when the business was closed.

Once inside, Johnstone said Ellis stole a cash box containing $200 in cash. Ellis then left the store by going back out through the drive-up window.

Ellis was identified after a review of the store's surveillance system, which recorded the burglary, Johnstone said.

He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $20,000 cash bail, $40,000 bail bond, or $60,000 insurance bond pending further court action.
